What I Wore While Away

So, I wanted to do another What I Wore Wednesday and thought I would share some pictures of the fun outfits I wore while on my mini vacation here...
DSCN2863 The Riverwalk in San Antonio! I got to join the hubbie while he went to a 4 day conference. He called it our “semi-romantic getaway,” because he worked during the day and we played in the evenings. It was so nice having absolutely nothing to do all day and then getting to spend all evening with only my husband. I would definitely recommend it for any mom needing a little back. So the first day with no children, I spent the ENTIRE day at the mall! I forgot how much fun shopping can be when you aren’t trying to cram it in with cranky children. I tried on everything and anything that I wanted and went to any store my heart desired. So much fun! Here are a few outfits I took in the dressing rooms…(so sorry for the poor photo quality)…

I had jus bought some great belts at Forever 21 and this is one of them. I loved these skinny jeans and plaid shirt at GAP, but they were out of my price range.DSCN2888But I loved this boyfriend cardi at GAP and totally let the saleslady talk me into getting the cardigan and a GAP card. A couple days later, I bought a t-shirt and she almost had my husband convinced that he needed to buy the fleece jacket he had tried on. Man, she was good at her job… DSCN2889Then, I fell in love with these jeggings and leopard print flats at American Eagle. I bought the jeggings (which I TOTALLY LOVE) and still wish I hadn’t talked myself out of those adorable, comfortable, wonderful shoes. DSCN2923Later that night, we went to the resteraunt at the top of the Tower of the Americas.  I knew it was fancy, so I had brought along this dress. I paired it with my new GAP cardi, new Forever 21 accessories, and my favorite pair of dress shoes. The hubbie couldn’t stop raving about how much he loved the look (and me, of course)! When we went onto the observation deck it was super windy. So I am literally holding down my skirt for the picture!  DSCN2927 DSCN2929We took a couple more pics of the outfit back at the hotel room. Our suite had one window and a few lamps, super cozy and romantic but horrible for quality pictures (on the left). So we tried one with the flash (on the right), which wasn’t entirely flattering either. More outfits from the rest of the trip…DSCN2933 DSCN2934I love to check out second-hand stores when I go on trips, because you always find different things than the ones at home. I found a cute red flowery shirt, a purple plaid shirt, a couple of fun tees for the kids and my favorite new accessory, an owl buckle belt.  After I bought it I immediately put it on and wore it the rest of the day, that’s how much I love it! You can kind of see it in the photo below…again romantic lighting…. DSCN2950 Then, it was back to real life, where I have three kids and babysit two more and everyone needs me to do something for them. But it was a nice break while it lasted.DSCN2952Purple Plaid shirt: Goodwill (in San Antonio)
